Love As A Social Ethic

Not to state the obvious, but it’s Election Day! Many have said that it’s no longer just an election day but more of a season. When we hear the difference between a day and a season, we feel a sense of needing to practice patience - like running a marathon instead of sprinting a mile. With this in mind, we wanted to offer a bit of reprieve as we start this election season and what better way to offer reprieve than to discuss that which feels the best, the feeling of love?

This week and next, we will focus solely on love. With all of the emotions that first come to mind with each of us today and really, this past year, love is probably not at the top of the list! But, love truly is the foundation for us in any and all relationships - friends, family, coworkers, neighbors… even people we don’t like. Learning tools of empathy and compassion to better ourselves, our country and those around us all begin with the foundation of a love ethic.

In our interview with Samantha Thomas of Just Choose Love, you will learn how the work of Bell Hooks inspired Samantha’s work to be focused around the principles of love. We also have a special episode coming to you next week! An episode filled with short stories about love. Our hope is that you will get a few feel-good moments by tuning in and experiencing love in action.
