Entrepreneurship In Crisis 💪🏼 We All Have It In Us!

“Whatever you do, don’t think you can do this by yourself.”

Whenever I meet with someone who is thinking about starting a business, this is one comment that I always try to make. Entrepreneurship can be amazing and rewarding, but it’s also really hard! Most people I know who are embarking on this journey are really good at producing a unique and beautiful product or service. They also often have a love and passion for what they are putting out into the world.

Through my own experiences in owning several businesses as well as learning from so many other business owners, the skills needed to run a successful business are too many for one person to be able to be good at. Being able to look at vision and the big picture is a needed skill. Being detail oriented is also critical. Those qualities rarely exist in the same person. A successful business needs dreamers and realists. It needs creators and managers, sales representatives and operation specialists, web and graphic design and people to scrub and clean. So whether through partnerships, employees and team members, or contractors, a business needs a team.

Something beautiful happens when a team is then empowered around a specific cause or mission. They can come together, all join in with entrepreneurial energy, and solve some big problems!

Today’s story is with Angela Engel, an entrepreneur who founded The Collective Book Studio. When she witnessed a problem in her community, she put on her entrepreneurship hat, decided to look for a solution and engaged everyone around her. Together, they created a vision and empowered everyone to tap into their skill sets, and then bring a solution to her community that literally saved lives. This is what entrepreneurship can look like at it’s finest moments!
