For all of the emotions that we have felt over these last few months, there is one that has caught us by surprise… hope. Now, this emotion is buried deep - like the seventeenth one that we’re feeling, but it’s there. And it’s like a seed that has just begun to sprout.

You see, in all of the hardships of this past year, and in the midst of the pain and deep problems that have been exposed, we find hope in humanity stepping up. There is real work ahead, but we also see resolve in the collective human spirit coming together to tackle what is in front of us. We see, more than ever in our lives, people acknowledging deep issues like systemic racism and gender inequality, putting their foot down and saying, “no more!”

Do you see it? You might have to squint, but it’s there!

This is part of the work of The Third Place. In order to face these issues, we’re going to have to come together with our best selves to find the solutions. And we need as many people at the table as possible.

To be open, humble, honest and strong… to bring empathy and to listen…

It won’t be easy. It will be uncomfortable. But we CAN do it.

We recognize that we are all in very different places. Just based on whether or not our favorite candidates won or lost, we may either find ourselves filled with more hope or more anxiety. No matter which way you feel, we ask that you look for that hope. It’s in more places than you might expect. And when you find it, cling onto it.

In this episode, we take a moment to share a few stories of hope and love. You will hear and experience exactly what we are talking about, and our wish for you is to be able to pause in this feeling for a moment so that we may continue on this path.

Hope is what will move us forward, together.
